RIDE IN LIVING COLOR (RILC) works to advance equitable transportation frameworks in the City of Los Angeles, with a specific focus on social and environmental justice in communities of color. Founded by a dedicated community leader Yolanda Davis-Overstreet, RILC is fused by her background in community organizing and deep compassion for the needs and concerns in communities of color that to have grown her pursuit of policy and systems change. In her fieldwork research with Advancement Project CA (2016 – 2018), Yolanda was instrumental in researching and developing a collective policy agenda around equitable, community-based practices to reduce traffic fatalities in Los Angeles.
